1) Who we are
LoveYourTask ("LYT", "we", "us") provides a website and a Chrome extension that help you log tasks and reflections and turn them into personal insights.

2) What this policy covers
This policy explains:
- what personal data we process,
- why we process it,
- where it is stored,
- who we share it with,
- and what choices and rights you have.
3) What data we process
We process the minimum data needed to provide the service.
A. Account data
Email address and authentication identifiers needed to sign in and maintain your account.
B. Content you choose to save
- Tasks you create (e.g., text, timestamps, project labels).
- Optional reflection fields you choose to use (e.g., mood/energy labels, notes, time spent/expected, or similar metadata).
C. Local extension storage
The extension stores certain data locally in your browser (for example: preferences, cached items, draft inputs) so the product remains fast and usable even with intermittent connectivity.
D. Technical and security data
Basic technical data (e.g., extension version, request IDs) and logs required to keep the service secure and reliable.
We do not sell personal data.
4) What we do not collect
- We do not collect or sell your browsing history for advertising or profiling purposes.
- We do not collect web browsing activity except to the extent required for a user-facing feature that is clearly described in the extension UI and in the Chrome Web Store listing (where applicable).
5) Why we use your data
We use personal data for:
- Providing the service (saving, syncing, and displaying your tasks and insights).
- Security and abuse prevention (protecting accounts, preventing misuse).
- Support (responding to requests sent to admin@loveyourtask.com).
- Legal compliance where applicable.
6) Legal bases (EEA/UK)
Where GDPR applies, we rely on:
- Contract (to provide the service you request),
- Legitimate interests (security, reliability, and service improvement),
- Consent where required (for optional features that require it).
7) Where your data is stored
We use Supabase to host our backend database. Our Supabase deployment region is North EU (Stockholm).
Supabase states that customer data is encrypted at rest (AES-256) and in transit (TLS).
8) AI processing (OpenAI)
Some features may use an AI provider (OpenAI) to generate summaries or insights from content you submit.
What may be sent to the AI provider
Only the text and metadata required to produce the feature you requested (for example, selected task text and your prompt or instruction).
Data retention and monitoring
OpenAI's platform documentation states that, by default, abuse-monitoring logs for API usage may be retained for up to 30 days, unless legally required longer.
9) Sharing your data
We share data only:
- With service providers that help us run the service (e.g., hosting/database; AI processing when used).
- If required by law (valid legal requests).
- In a corporate transaction (e.g., acquisition), with appropriate safeguards.
No employer/admin access: LYT does not provide an employer "admin view" into your personal task/reflection content by default.
10) Chrome extension privacy (disclosure)
If you install the LYT extension, we handle user data in line with Chrome Web Store user data requirements, including:
- disclosing what data we collect and why,
- limiting use to what we disclose, and
- not collecting browsing activity except when required for a user-facing feature described prominently.
11) Data retention
We retain personal data only as long as needed to provide the service and for legitimate security and operational purposes.
You can request deletion by contacting admin@loveyourtask.com. (Operational backups may persist for a limited time before being overwritten.)
12) Your rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to:
- access your data,
- correct inaccurate data,
- request deletion,
- object to or restrict certain processing,
- request portability.

13) Security
We use reasonable safeguards designed to protect personal data, including access controls and encryption in transit. Supabase states encryption at rest (AES-256) and TLS in transit.
No method of storage is perfectly secure; we continuously improve.
14) Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. We'll post updates on this page and change the "Last updated" date.

- Local (extension): browser local storage for preferences and cached data.

Access control
Production access is limited to authorized personnel using least-privilege principles.
AI processing
When AI features are used, selected content may be processed by OpenAI. OpenAI documentation states abuse monitoring logs may be retained up to 30 days by default.
Deletion
You can request deletion via admin@loveyourtask.com. Local extension data can be removed by clearing extension storage and/or uninstalling the extension.

1) Agreement
By accessing or using LoveYourTask (website or extension), you agree to these Terms.
2) The service
LYT provides task logging, reflection, and insight features. Features may evolve over time.
3) Accounts
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for activity under your account.
4) Your content
You own the content you submit (tasks, notes, reflections). You grant LYT a limited license to host, process, and display your content solely to operate and improve the service you requested.
5) Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- attempt unauthorized access or interfere with the service,
- use the service for unlawful purposes,
- upload content that violates others' rights.
6) Third-party services
The service may rely on third parties (e.g., hosting/database, AI processing).
7) Disclaimers
The service is provided "as is" and "as available" to the extent permitted by law.
8) Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, LoveYourTask will not be liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from use of the service.
9) Termination
You may stop using the service at any time. We may suspend access if needed for security, misuse, or operational reasons.
